East Coast Mall Indie Stage

January to December

when i was in kuantan last week for an event coordination, i stumble upon an indie band performance at kuantan's East Coast Mall. I didnt know much about kuantan scene, neither that i know there are quite a handful of potential bands from the east coast, although some of the bands might require a lil more time to develop their talents but its encouraging to see such a local shopping complex is allowing them to perform at one of the entrance wing(nearby Padini concept store) where the public enable to see them on stage performing their own songs or cover songs.

I stopped by and spent time to see some bands performing that afternoon such as 'january to december', ACS(all couple song) and few more that i couldn't remember. January to December performed their own penned song such as 'in my mind','imaginasiku',and 'you are my blood' quite impressed to see them able to compose the song esp the one in english composition. Although some improvement are needed in terms of pronunciation but i believe in time their English song would be better in time.

Well, if ECM able to allow their local youth to perform at their vicinity, what about KL shopping malls? and what ever happen to central market outdoor stage? laman budaya? why arent these venues is not being fully utilized in providing the local art/music communities to show and improve their talents in public? If in UK, the stutters community were given space to improve the stutter by giving them a public space/stage to develop their self confidence when speaking in public then why not we utilized our public avenues as a platform for our local arts/music/communities to positively develop our youth skills and talents? sometimes, its not about the money(by asking rental fee in order to use your space), its about what you(corp people)give to the society as in direct contribution in order for the money to roll in back to you.
