Sunburst 2009

Suprise and GERAM! Almost like being smack by an April fool jokes in the month of february! Pineapple Concert has manage to successfully throw an over the top gimic, by announcing a not yet confirm acts as gimmick in hope to sells tickets for Sunburst 2009.

The management of Pineapple has started their promotion on sunburst earlier through various media convincing people to purchase a presale ticket before official launch date at RM143. While presale ticket is sold at RM203 and door sale at RM253. Last year ticket was priced at RM200.

This is a huge DISSAPOINTMENT since last year they manage to invite Incubus, The Roots, John Legend which was quite a high profile international line up. Despite the price hike, with event date just around the corner, N.E.R.D alone is not enough. Russian Winter is off the topix(they are probably indie band from Australia).

There's nothing wrong having local indie acts, however if they were to charge RM253 per ticket. I think they should invite MORE local performers/indie (from various genre of music )acts and probably extend it to another day JUST to give value for the price.Furthermore, indie acts are accessible all year round!

For whatever reasons and excuse they might come out later to justify their strategy, they must act quick and fact to rectify the sour mood from the public.

Many of us(including me) has stupidly purchased the tickets earlier solely based on trust,base from the last year sunburst's line ups. However, if they fail to surprise us with few more international names, Pineapple concert sdn bhd will surely leave a huge negative impression from now on. The sour line up list for this year will surely leave a scar for at least a few years to come. Perhaps they should change their name to To be confirm concert Sdn Bhd?
